I would like to introduce you all to London, my nephew!
He was born February 27th at 12:50pm. Christa was exhausted after 2 days of labour and 4 days of contractions. Both mommy and baby are at home after having to stay in the hospital an extra day or so because Christa's iron levels were dangerously low (in the 80s).
He is the most happy baby, though he's a little red in this picture it's just because he had just cried for his bottle ^_^ He's getting his back patted for burping.
He's got the sweetest disposition, calm and relaxed most of the time and happy to be passed around amongst us. He's got blond hair and when he was born he had hazel eyes which have now darkened to a blue.

I know I know...I'm a horrible LJer or at least I have been for the last several weeks. Mostly because I just have been so busy with the deadline for my chat program and trying to drum up more business for my company that I really haven't had time to sit back and post something here.
Well, I still haven't heard back about the part time job. I'm supposed to hear about it today.
When I went in for the interview he was telling me about a fulltime position that I would have taken if only my car could handle it. It was to go to peoples homes and set up their computers and networks....Damn I wish the car wasn't messed up :( could have been an awesome opportunity. So the department I asked for was Software and Game systems...

Well, early this morning...around 5:00am I woke up for some reason. Don't know why...maybe it was the hairs standing up on the back of my neck...maybe it was the puppy jumping up onto the bed...maybe it was the huge freaking spider walking across my hand. Now, everyone knows I'm no girly girl...but i'm sad to admit I yelped and jumped out of bed.
So creepy-ed out I was that I wrapped myself in a blanket and ambled down stairs to lie on the couch and watch a movie till the creepy crawly feeling was no longer tingling my hand.
ughhhhgh -shivers- ok...on to other things

I'm sitting here with a glass of wine, contemplating tackling the dishes I've got, but then I remember as the warmth of the wine spreads through my body that I'm getting a dishwasher, so I might as well wait...But as I look at my wine glass I realize...I have no girly drink glasses...I've just got lots of wine glasses and juice glasses!
I'm gonna have to serve girly drinks in wine glasses it looks like -_-
Flicks - So for chick flicks I've got I.Q., EverAfter, Princess Bride, Center Stage, Strictly Ballroom, Matchmaker and I'm going to rent Pride and Prejudice.
Licks - So, I got lots of shrimp and a rump roast to dice up for the beef. I picked up some fruit chunks and dip for them, and I've got Peek Freans cookies for dessert.
Drips - I picked up some Coke, Sprite, a blush wine and Margarita mix...
Mmmm this is good wine...I think I'm going to put on a movie and do some programming now.... |

Well, I've picked up some Strawberry Daquri mix and some Pina Colada mix...I'm thinking of getting some rasberry or cranberry mix too but I don't know what everyone likes ^_^
Oooh and I'm getting my dishwasher tomorrow -snoopy dance- Just needs a few parts and it'll be perfect...a nice portable one almost brand new!
I rented My Fair Lady last night and watched it...How I love that movie! Makes me cry every time....

OK...So since the movie & girly drinks night is popular that's what it'll be...The date is August 26th...that's the Saturday (8 days from today).
I'm going to have the following:
- Asian finger foods (ie pot stickers )
- Mix for drinks
- Oil Fondue
- Broth Fondue
- Some kind of dessert (not sure yet)
We do have a bbq and could do supper too...
The next thing to descide is movies...What movies do you guys want to see, don't mind seeing again ?? I've got a pretty eclectic movie pallet so for the most part I'll watch anything ^_^

CAT'S DIARY
Day 483 of my captivity...
My captors continued to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat,! while I am forced to eat dry cereal.
The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction that I get from clawing their furniture.
Tomorrow I will eat another house plant.
Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded - must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair. I must remember to try this on their bed.
Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body in an attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear in their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was. Hmmm, that did not work according to plan...
There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the food. More importantly, I overheard that my confinement was due to my powers of inducing "allergies." I must learn what this is and how I may use it to my advantage.
I am convinced the other captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The bird, on the other hand, has got to be an informant and speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room, his safety is assured.
But I have patience, I can wait, it is only a matter of time... |

Well, I was all geared up and ready to go to knitting last night...all I had to do was drop chunick off a at his meeting at a house on the corner of River street. So a quick 5 minute drive right...?
Get there and the car is complaining a bit so I turn on the heater which brings the heat down on the engine. (Some kind of Radiator issue...haven't had the $$ to check it out yet) It usually works...if there was any antifreeze in the fricken rad! It took me a half hour to get from the place he was having his meeting to home because the car was so over heated I needed to stop every few blocks to let it cool down.
So I was needless to say overheated myself when I got home, I knew I forgot something when I was at Walmart the night before!! I remembered the doggy treats for Kali but for got the anti-freeze. By time the car cooled down enough to be useful again it was already 8:45 and there was no way I'd get to pezessed's for knitting night.
Ugh...I was really looking forward to it too...I've been feeling down lately and they always are a great bunch to be around and laugh with. |

I got a phone call today around 2:20pm saying that she was in the hospital, the past few years that isn't anything really new, though she had seemed to be getting better.
This morning she complained of a small pain in her chest and that she was having difficulty breathing...the small pain turned out to be a burst artery and the breathing was caused by a collapsed lung. She told the orderly bringing her into the hospital that she was embarrassed for the fuss. Stubborn woman, ( ... ) |
